What will happen if the rotor of an induction motor is fed
from a 3 phase supply and the stator short circuited ?
Answer Posted / manas ghosh
It is
just like using the secondary of a transformer as primary. In this case the effective load depending on the value of rotational speed, which is r(1/s - 1) will be on the stator side. so, here 'r' is the actual stator resistance. Here supply side(rotor) acts as primary and stator acts as secondary. All other quantities like silp,Ns remain same but the definition of silp is not the same as in the case of stator side supply.
