A Flow transmitter will produce 4-20mA as its output. According to the differential pressure applied to the diaphragm of the D.P it will produce electrical signal. In the cause of the flow the out put current will be in the square root proportional mode, i.e
input= 0% then output= 0% 4.00 mA
input= 25% then output= 50% 12.00 mA
input= 50% then output= 70.71% 15.31 mA
input= 75% then output= 86.60% 17.85 mA
input=100% then output= 100% 20.00 mA
For a level transmitter it will be operated in linear mode,i.e,
input= 0% then output= 0% 4 mA
input= 25% then output= 25% 8 mA
input= 50% then output= 50% 12 mA
input= 75% then output= 75% 16 mA
input=100% then output= 100% 20 mA
The same DP(Differential pressure) Transmitter can also used for both flow and level,but the one and only change in the mode of operation. flow is proportional to the
square root of the DP,but floe is directly proportional.

I was working on calibrating turbidity transmitters endress+hauser at effluent polishing plant.We calibrated using NTU buffers.What happened is that when we immersed the sensor, everytime we raise and lower the sensor gradually, the reading will vary.my question is that is there any specifications on what is the required distance from the bottom of the container with buffer to the face of the sensor?Is it ok to install the sensor in a medium which has turbulence specially if bubbles are present?
