(x-10)/(y-10)=1/5
i.e 5x-y=40 ---------------------(1)

also given

X+3={3(Y+3)}/7
i.e 7x+21=3y+9
i.e 7x-3y=-12 ----------------------(2)


now, solving (1)&(2),
x=16.5 years and y=42.5 years
