CTPT - The Current Transformer and Potential Transformer,
these are instrument transformers used mainly for high voltage instrumentation purposes at the substation
1.Measurement purposes;these transformers provides low level signals to the metering equipments to measure line voltage level and line currents at the substation.
2.Protection purpose;these transformers provides signals to the upon occurrence of fault , over-current and under-current faults are firstly sensed by the current transformers then signals the O-C/U-C RELAY to trip the Circuit breaker ,Over-voltage and under-voltage faults is firstly sensed by Potential Transformer then signals the O-V/U-V RELAY to trip the Circuit breaker.
3. The occurrence of unbalanced fault condition in three phases at the substation is detected by the current transformers and potential transformers and the signal is fed to the respective relay to operate the circuit breaker.
4.on the POWER GRID the performance and operating status of the HIGH VOLTAGE SUBSTATION are monitored and controlled through feedback from CTPT

how does the terminal voltage of transmission lines increase when a capacitor is connected???? This happens not only in transmission lines but also in all circuits. How??? When a capacitor is connected in a transmission line, capacitor also takes energy from the same supply. But how is it able to increase the terminal voltage??? Practically What sequence of events happen during increase in voltage???
