Why the rotor winding is short circuited of induction motor
Answer Posted / sai kiran
in induction motor stator winding acts as primary winding and rotor winding acts as secondary winding. when we give supply to primary winding flux is produced by it . it is induced to secondary due to induced emf current is produced in secondary winding it possible only when secondary winding is closed loop hence we short rotor winding.due to this current flow in secondary winding .when current is produced then flux is produced in it .this is rotor flux it oppose main flux that is stator flux this opposing process is called armature reaction due to this rotor starts rotates reach less than synchronous speed.
