There are three components in LR.
1. Vugen
2. Controller
3. Analysis
VUGEN
-----
1. First of all, the protocol should be identified. This
can be done by "Protocol Advisor". This can be found in the
home page/ start page of the LR.
2. Next is to start the recording. Press Start record
button. Check the recording options. Start recording the
application
3. After the recording is over, just run the test for one
iteration
4. Parameterize the required values(Username, Data provided
by the tester during recording)
5. Correlate the values that would change during the runtime
(ex: TimeStamp, SAPID....)
6. Check the runtime settings(Press F4)
7. Replay the test for some 5 iterations and check the
results.
8. In case of errors, troubleshoot. Mostly it might be
because of the correlation mistakes.
Controller
----------
1. Once 5 iteration run is successful, then in the
controller group the scenario with the tests you want to
run.
2. Set the duration of the test(might be a short run for an
hour or it can be an enduration test for 2 days too).
3. Run the scenario
4. Incase of errors then troubleshoot it and run it again.
5. You might be able to see the graphs like response time,
vuser graphs etc.
6. Monitor the test until the completion
7. Check for the failures and find the root-cause for the
issue.
Analysis
--------
1. Open the test results gathered from the different agents
(this the controller would have done once after the
completion of the test).
2. Go through the results.
3. Provide the report summary
