What is the difference between Earthing and Neutral?
Answer Posted / p.ghosh
Neutral is the point which provide a null voltage(ideally)in a 3-ph system and a return path in 1-ph system but earthing is totally different from neutral. You can have an earthed neutral system.Purpose of providing earthing is to take the unwanted/leakage current into earth so that the equipment/operating personal can be protected from electrical damage.
