I am new guy as an electrical engr. in a 100MW HFO based
power project. I am in operations division. I have noticed
from last few days, my supervisor sends the last 24 hours
energy generation calculation to my plant manager. I have
noticed, he calculated last 24 hour's generated energy
differences in KWH then he multiplied it with a multiplying
factor 960. for example:
total difference =2.685 KWH*960= 2577.6 MWH.
but he does not not know what is multiplying factor 960??
can anybody explain it??

First of all you will find CT & PT ratio using for this
power measurement then you can find MF what your supervisor
apply.
Suppose that---
you are using a 33 kV CT having ratio 50/1 Amp. and 33 kV
PT. so multiplying factor= 50/1 * 33000/110 = 15000 (in watt)

We normally make oil soak pits under Transformers. Oil from soak pit goes to collection pit. We provide granules/pebbles under transformers. My question is weather granules/ pebbles to be filled in soak pit or not? if yes upto what level?
