in india,we use 230V,50 Hz,whereas many other countries use
110V,60Hz.what r d advs and disadvantages of each of them?
Answer Posted / sajid iran khan
Dear...
if we will use 110V rms then we require much current as
compare to 230v so lot of heat losses due to high
current.Asian countries mostly are hot weather,so lot of
heat can be happened so we use 220 and small current.USA and
Uk they use 110 so high current can be adjusted because cold
weather.220V use almost all around the world.and many
devices also prepared according to that voltage.so 220 is
compatible.

What is the need of earthing transformer for delta side of a transformer. (Think of a line section between a star/delta transformer at a grid substation and delta/star transformer at a village. An earthing transformer is there at the delta side of the star/delta transformer at grid substation). As there are no ground reference there will not be fault current if a one phase is grounded. Further L-L phase will be sensed by the primary side of star/delta transformer as a L-G fault. So why an earthing transformer is required at delta side

As we use capacitior bank in 3ph ckt for improvement of PF, why not we use capacitor in single phase domestric use, at our house their are many inductive equipments, like fan, mixer, tube choke, air conditioner they also draw PF... by using capacitor can they improve PF. if yes--what are advantage and how to connect a capactor in single ph,and which type of capacitor if no- what are disadvantages.
