neutral is acts as a closed path for the electric circuit for continuity. residual current will flows through the neutral wire..
Earth wire transfers the high fault currents to the earth. to save the equipment.

What happened if C.T mount at any cable or Bus bar in wrong direction . C.T going on proper work or not . C,T direction is essential thing to properly work.
