will a transformer work when pulsating dc id applied to its
primary?? what will be the result??
Answer Posted / pramit dutta
Transformer is transfer energy from primary to secondary.
So it needs changing flux in its core so that the flux can cut
across windings and induced voltage and current. We know,
e=-N da/dt ,where a is flux in core. So if pulsating dc id applied to its primary then the lines of flux will be constant. So e will be 0. So energy can't be transfered.
