what r remedies taken for foundation in black cotton soils..??

Because of the properties of black cotton soil i.e.it get
cracked when water comes out of the soil and get swell when
water enters.So,while construction of foundation following
remedies has to be taken,-
Remove upper layer of the soil up to hard strata.
Otherwise go for deep foundation i.e. pile foundation.
For the continuous settlement of structure spreed continuous
raft on ground where you are going to carried out
construction.
Or Replace black cotton soil by hard material i.e. murrum or
stone.
