how much cement and sand is used for plastering 1646 sq
feet,for 12mm thickness and ratio 1:4
Answer Posted / abdul samad
for 12mm plastering, first convert 1646 sq.ft into sq.mt ie
= 1646/10.76 sq.m, = 152.97 or say 153 sq.m!!
now convert that into cu.m by multiplying with thickness of
plastering i.e =153*12/1000, = 1.836 cu.m!!
wet mixed mortar for uniform layer = 1.836 cum, adding 30%
for filling up joints, uneven surfaces.. =
1.836+1.836*(0.25) =2.295 increasing again by 25% the dry
volume = 2.295*1.25 = 2.869 cum, the mix proportion for
plastering is 1:4 i.e cement =1/5*2.869 =.574 cum,
=.574*1440(density of cement) = 826 kgs, similarly sand =
4/5*2.869 =2.296 cum,
= 2.296*1840(density of river sand)= 4224.6 kg's
Thank you, all the best!
