Hi,
First lest me explain about the topics
seviarity: It tell about the importance of the bug raised
in testing process. The seviarity of the bugs can be
classifed into five types they are
1.Blocker: This bug prevents developers from testing or
developing the software.
2.Critical: The software crashes, hangs, or causes you to
lose data.
3.Major: A major feature is broken.
4.Minor: Minor loss of function, and there's an easy work
around.
5.Cosmatic: It's a bug that should be fixed.
6.Suggestion: Request for new feature or enhancement
When come to Priority: It tells the which bug
has to given first prefernce to rectify the bug
1.Immediate: It has togiven first preference.(Critical &
Block).
2. At the earliest: resolve the defect at the earliest on
priority (Major & Minor).
3. Normal: Resolve the defect (Cosmetic)
4. Later: Could be resolved at later stages.(suggestions)
So, Friends I think Priority can be decided on
the Seviarity
