Potential of a point in space is the amount of work required to be done to move an electron from infinite distance to that point.
Potential difference between 2 points is the difference of the above mentioned figure for the points.
Voltage, as we usually use is nothing but potential difference. But most frequently, it is the rms value of the voltage that we use. In case of AC, it continuously varies. In case of DC, it is still.
