SNMP is widely used to Monitor , make configh changes ,
trigger alarms to maitain device device reports i.e cpu
stats , interface error, utilization etc.

SNMP query the information also called pollling and get
responses from a SNMP enabled device 1.e. router , switch etc

It uses port 161 for polling and 162 for traps


It uses MIB - Management information bases enbeded in every
device to querry any information from device , there are
OIDs to query almost every information on device.

Two kind of communities can be configured in SNMP Read-only
and Read-wirte

RO - Used to query the information

RW - Used to query and also push the config to device
