A half wave rectifier is used to supply 50vdc to resistive
load of 800ohms the semiconductor diode has a forword
resistance of 25ohms,calculate ac voltage required?
Answer Posted / dhafer faisal
Answer:
Output d.c. voltage, Vdc = 50 V
Diode resistance, rf = 25 Ω
Load resistance, RL = 800 Ω
Let Vm be the maximum value of a.c. voltage required.
∴ Vdc = Idc × RL
= π( )

× × = 162 V
Hence a.c. voltage of maximum value 162 V is required.
