Why a single-phase induction motor not an inherently
self-starting machine?

because single phase supply is
pulsations in nature it can't able to
produce rotating magnetic field and
there is chance for magnetic locking.
for above reason motor can't able to
run

When a single pase capacitor run motor- run on 230vac and Case(1)run with 8 Mfd 250 vac.capacitor , Case( 2) run with 8 Mfd 400vac capacitor. What is difference between both case regarding power ,efficiency etc?
