For the same power rating, which motor is bigger in size,AC or DC?
Answer Posted / kapil pandey
In AC- P = Root3 *V*I (for 3 phases) [ 3 core windings]
In DC - P= 3*V*I (for 3 phases)[6 core windings]
means for getting power sqroot3 times we have to wound
double. making the DC motor size bigger.
one more thing that the loss arresting system & protection
system shall also be bigger in case of DC.
