a very useful application of TDM is in mobile
communications. In the human speech if we hear only 1/8 of
the entire speech we will understand the complete speech
(7/8 of speech is silence between words and useless sounds).
So we can split a frequency channel into 8 different time
slots (TDM) and every person can achieve 1 of these time
slots over a time period (e.g. 1 second). so we can multiple
the channel capacity by 8!!
