N=3L(L-1)+1 Where N=No of strand L=No of layer of cable. ie A single layer(single strand) N=3*1(1-1)+1=1 A double layer cable N=3*2(2-1)+1=7 And in three layer cable N=3*3(3-1)+1=19 And . so on ........ But Now-a-days some manufacuture company does not supply the exact size (No of strand) of cable for economic benefit.
