Why Power generation in India is at 50Hz while in America
its 60Hz so is there any advantage/Disadvantage of this ??

its true that the power stations include a fixed speed of
rotor(3000 rpm) and fixed no. of poles as producing 50 hz
supply but i think it is fixed due to the conventional
electrical equipments which were using the same supply and
now a days equip.are designed on the basis of that...
