what is compressive strength of concrete?

Answer Posted / fazil

The compressive strength of concrete is the most common
performance measure used by the engineering in designing
buildings and other structures.
The compressive strength is measured by breaking the cubic
concrete specimen in CTM(compression testing machine).
The compressive strength is calculated from the failure load
by the cross sectional area resisting the load And reported
its units in KN.
(i.e) Fc = max load of the cubic specimen / area of the cube

where Fc - comp.strength of concrete in KN
