If load is 240 kw & pf is 0.8 lagging, than how to increase
it from0.8 to 1.0(unit),which rating capacitor used, please
give me Calculation. What is effact of consumer & suplier
if pf is lagging or leading with on effect machines/ TF/GE
etc.

using the formula for cmputing KVAR
KVARcap = KWrating(tan(theta1) - tan(theta2))
where theta 1 is the angel of .8pf and theta 2 is angel of 1.0pf
KVARcap = 240k (tan36.87 + tan 0)
KVARcapacitor = 180KVAR..
that will be the answer.. or using vector solution

HELLO EVERYONE, I RECENTLY HAVE FOUND ONE PROBLEM, I WAS TAKING NO LOAD TRIAL OF AN HT MOTOR 920 MOTOR , 1440 RPM , 6.6 KV, WITH AUTO TRANSFORMER. AT 450 V, LOAD WAS 40 AMP AND SPEED WAS 250 RPM. BUT AS WE INCREASE VOLTAGE FROM 450 TO 480V, LOAD BECOME 41 AND SPEED REDUCED TO SOME RPM . SO WHICH PHENOMENON ACTED HERE FOR REDUCING SPEED.?? AND IS IT HAPPENING ALWAYS OR IT IS RARE? I ALSO HAVE FACED SUCH PROBLEM WITH FEW LT MOTOR ALSO.
