For Beam steel reinforcement detailing, in the End of the beam do the making of L shape in the rebar is essential in all the cases, specially in the ends of the Beam?
Answer Posted / mdnahid akhtar
it is compulsory to do bend in the end rregion of beam, because the maximum chances of deflection is always near the sopport.in some cases the concrete leaves the rib of steel, called sleepage. so to avoid the sleepage and to increase more tensile strength doing bend (L) is necessary.in cantilever no discussion .but in S.S beam it may run.
