We all have seen transmission and Distribution lines In
transmission lines the voltage is high and current is low(to
reduce I^2r loss) and in distribution lines voltage is low
but current is high however the size of transmission wires
is bigger than that of distribution wires even though the
amount of current carried by the distribution lines is more
than that of transmission lines why?

Answer Posted / murali290

In transmission the power carried is very high compared to
distribution.even low currents in transmission means it is
of range Kilo Amps ,inorder to carrying that much high
power(VI).
where as in distribution low power is carrying .even though
high currents means not that much as in transmission.hence
small conductors are present in distribution compared to
transmission

Please help me regarding my one concern. - During earth pit testing we noticed that the Clean earth pit and dirty earth pit showing continuity (Resistance value - 5ohm) . I want to know that if both earth pit have separate location and there is not internal looping between PIT then why such continuity is showing on it . Because of this issue the field side all earthing point showing short. In PLC panel we are providing two types of earthing cable which is coming from separate earth pit (Clean and Dirty earth pit) because of earth PIT showing short our PLC is not complying spec . please help regarding this issues.
