Why Power generation in India is at 50Hz while in America
its 60Hz so is there any advantage/Disadvantage of this ??
Answer Posted / vivek singh
for the frequency less than 50 hz electrical lamps will
appear to dark and glow .human eye cannot see the
fluctuation for frequency more than 50 hz, but if frequency
is increased more losses will increase and the voltage
applied can be reduced. In India 50 hz is used too prevent
losses but it is more danderous for human life.In USA 60 hz
is used because they can bear losses but not the loss in
human life.
