Substation and switchyard both are different and these two
are inter connectors between the generating station and
transmission and distribution,
switchyard is the inter connector between
generation and transmission, and same voltage is mentained
in switchyard.
substation is the inter connector between
transmission and distribution systems, and various voltage
levels are mentained in substation.
