principle of hvdc transmission and technic of hvddc
transmission .

HVDC actually stands for high voltage direct current.
HIGH VOLTAGE DIRECT CURRENT TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
Transmitting high voltage direct current is more efficient
as compared to high voltage alternating current
transmission system. in this system at generating station
11kv alternating current is generated and stepped up with
the use of power transformer
and then it is converted into direct current with the help
of thyratron a device that converts alternating current
into direct current and than it is fed to the transmission
line.
at the recieving end it is again converted into ac
through rotary converters and then it is stepped down with
the help of suitable tansformers.
and is distributing end
