what is difference between sub-station and switch yard.
Answer Posted / nonx
A substation consists of step-up/step-down transformer,
breakers, disconnects, and the necessary protection and
metering instruments. A switch yard contains these less the
transformer. Both of this can be configured to have
interconnections.
