how and why are capacitors are used to improve powerfactor?
Answer Posted / guest
Generally, poor power facor means that the current lag
behind voltage because of inductive loads. Capacitors
supply leading current with respect to the voltage which
cancels out the effect of inductive loads. Thus the source
side views the loads as purely resistive one. ence,
capacitors are used to improve power factor
