what is blow by and blow down phenomena in ic engine?
Answer Posted / logachandran.v
Blow by: When the equal pressures at the top and bottom of
the piston of an IC Engine exists it won't work and it will
blast. To avoid this situation the blower is used at the
bottom of the piston(crank case)ie., Creating negative
pressure inside the cylinder.
blow down: time lap between fresh charge entering into the
cylinder through inlet and exhaust through exhaust valve.
