To determine the Healthiness of Insulation we will be
performing Dielectric tests i.e Insulation Resistance test,
Partial Discharge test,Switching Impulse, Lightning impulse,
Tan Delta test ...etc why we required to perform this many
test, why cant we do only one test. for Transformer, CT's
Answer Posted / tanmay kumar
Because every test has its own specification ,like bdv test for oil,tan delta for bushing,ir for hv,and lv windings..in a single test it is nt posible to test the whole transformer.

When a capacitor is connected in a transmission line, capacitor also takes energy from the same supply. But how is it able to increase the terminal voltage??? Practically What sequence of events happen during increase in voltage???
