Which Current transformer will be bigger in size, 400/5 or
400/1 & why?
Answer Posted / mohammed ashwaq
The above said logic is true when we are talking about a single wire or cable, but here we are discussing about one CT as a single entity. according to me, in 400/5 the secondary is being reduced to 5 amps and in 400/1 the secondary is 1 amps, more no of windings are required to go down to 1 amps rather than to 5 amps. so size of 400/1 will be higher when compared to 400/5 CT. intelligent suggestions are appreciated.
