resistance is the property of a material to resist the flow
of current... now by ohm's law current is directly
proportional to voltage. then why we transformer in small
appplication... if we use resistance in daily life it will
be more sufficent,cheaper,etc. than transformer

Using transformer,we step-up or step-down ac voltage,which depends on no. of turns,which again depends on the flux linkage or flux cut by primary & secondary.But,using resistance,that obeys Ohm's law,we can operate on dc circuits and on those ac circuits where phase difference remains 0.Using resistance,with any other phase differnce, cannot be materialized for the above-asked purpose.
