Fuse is used for safety as well as the protection of the
equipment and operator too.fuse can b connect in neutral as well as in phase
the fuse will work as the same on both (in natural or in phase)
IER make this rule to connect the fuse to the phase only just to the safety of equipment & operator
and if there is a earthing and fuse is connected at the neutral and there is a inrush of current fuse will disconncet the neutral after disconnecting the nutral earthing will make itself as a return path and the equipment will damage altimeatly
and operator comes in contact with that equipment than due to the connection of phase he/she can suffer a shock
due to these both reasons fuse is connected in phase only
