stress is the resisting force per unit area(gradually
apllied tensile or compressive load) whereas pressure is the
applied force per unit area.
another difference is that pressure always acts
perpendicular to the surface or area but stress can be act
normally(tensile stress) as well as tangentially(shear stress).
