what is orifice plate?
Give me best answer?....plz

Orifice plate is a fluid flow measuring device. It works on
the following principle.
Flow rate(Q)= sqr rt (Differential pressure).
When the fluid flows across the orifice plate it will create
the differential pressure,, based on the nozzle action
principle. ie.., The pressure in the upstream is more than
when compared to the pressure in the down stream. why
because the orifice plate will create a trap for the normal
fluid flow, so before orifice plate the velocity of the
fluid will be less and the pressure is more., due to the
change of kinetic energy to potential energy,. and after the
orifice plate the fluid particles will try to regain their
energy back so after orifice plate the velocity will be more
and the pressure will be less., thus the differential
pressure is created.
And by using the SQUARE ROOT EXTRACTION PRINCIPLE we are
converting this differential pressure in to flow.
Four types of orifice plates are there.
1) concentric
2) segmental
3) essentric
4) quadrant
