WHY DO DEAD BODIES SAIL ON WATER WHERE AS A HUMAN BEING GET
DROWNED?
Answer Posted / phani kunar
as a person is alive his lungs are filled with air and with some references it is shown that the body's density is around 1000Kg/m3 but once the person lost his breath his density falls to 980 kg/m3 and by this a dead body floats on water up to the period the lungs are filled with water once they are filled with water then the dead body density increases and causes it to sink but after a period due to the decomposition of some internal parts by the attack of bacteria some gases evolve in body and causes decrease in the weight and increase in the dimensions (swollen) there by casuing the body to sail on water......
