why are caluculte transformers or dg's in kva does not

because transformer or DG are energy convertor not consumer
and KW is active power being consumed , transformer and DG
do not consume any power except some losses, hence these
are rated as KVA free from power factor

i installed 100kva ups. what KVA genset they should provid in input side? plz any update formula or ans with reason.
