1-ACTIVE POWER-which actually does the useful work in the machine.
2-REACTIVE POWER-which the system needs to overcome the losses in the machine.
POWER SUPPLIED=WORK DONE BY MACHINE(ACTIVE POWER) + LOSSES(REACTIVE POWER)
