horse power is a unit of energy or power which resembles 1hp=745.6999 or 746 watt for hydraulic, electric and metric mechanics term for boiler power its 9.806 kw=33476bth/hr.
for rpm it is given by Srpm= hp x 5252/ torque
in other word for generating 1 lb-ft torque with 1hp 5252 synchronous rotation per min is required.
