What is the difference between TIN and VAT?

TIN means TAX PAYER'S IDENTIFICATION NUMBER. IT is just a
registration no. of tax payer"s in Department of Excise and
costum for depositing sales tax or VAT.
Whereas VAT means VALUE ADDED TAX. It is system of sales
tax like charging depositing vat when and how ? VAT is
modern form of sales tax.
