grounding and earthing are almost similar terms the
difference is as followes
Grounding:if the current carrying part of the system is
earthed it is called grounding i.e it is done for the
protectoion of power sytstem equipment for example grounding
of neutral point of a star connected transformer.
Earthing:If the non current carrying part of the system is
earthed it is called as earthing i.e it is done for the home
appliances such as computer refrigerator etc...
