what is the exact difference between zener breakdown
voltage and avalanche voltage??
Answer Posted / m nagaraju iiit nuzvid
Avalanche break down is due to low doping levels at high
reverse bias voltages. Here at high thermal energy new
electrons are generated they collide with crystals of new
electrons produces new one in geometric
progressions......i.e it is due to collision by ionization.
Where as Zener break down is due to High doping levels at
low reverse voltages. a electrons can find a new electron in
near so small voltages can use them to expel from the
valency so it is due to High field emission.
