Networking is the construction, design and use of network,
including the physical (cabling, hub, bridge, switch,
routers, and so forth), the selection and use of
telecommunication protocol and computer software for using
and managing the network, and establishment of operating
policies and procedures related to network.
Internetworking is a collection of individual networks,
connected by intermediate devices (e.g. routers), that
function as a single large network. Internetworking refers
to the industry, product and procedure that meet the
challenge of creating and administering internetworks. The
figure below illustrates some different kinds of network
technologies that can be interconnected by routers and
other networking devices to create an internetwork.
