A cube of side 4cm is painted with 3 colors red, blue and
green in such a way that opposite sides are painted in the
same color. This cube is now cut into 64 cubes of equal
size.
1. How many have at least two sides painted in different
colors.
2. How many cubes have only one side painted.
3. How many cubes have no side painted.
4. How many have exactly one side not painted.

Answer:
The cube is cut 4 by 4 to get 64 cubes:
1) 32 cubes have at least two sides painted in diff
colors(16 cubes in diff colors * 2 sides =32)
2) 24 cubes have only one side painted (4 cubes one side
painted * 6 sides =24)
3) 8 cubes have no side painted (32+24=56 cubes; 64-56=8)
4) 0 cubes have exactly one side not painted
