What is the difference between generator and alternator?

The output of a generator is either DC or AC whereas the
output of alternator is only AC

write down the formula of cable size in RM if current is 50Amp.
we have require a Motor (1500kW, 6.6kV, 50Hz) which shall operate at 1500rpm during 30min and after it shall run on 500rpm during 15min.
