what's the meaning of the negative going half cycle in the
circuit containing a bulb and a switch in series with a
input ac source.
i mean what happens in the -ve cycle.
the dir. of current changes or any other thing.
if dir. changes then why we use fuse in only phase wire.

of course the direction of
current changes in negative
half cycle but the current flows
only when there is a close
circuit. So placing two fuses in
phase and neutral both wires
makes no technical difference
As there is only one close loop
in 1 phase circuit. Although we
have to check two fuses each
time it blows off.
