if the syncronous machine run at leading pf and as its
field curret increased its armature current decreased is
machine operate as generator or motor?

when a gen is connected to grid and terminal voltage is less
than the system voltage ,the gen runs on leading pf.If the
excitation current (field) is increased ,the armature
current reduces till unity pf is reached.
